Microturbines use the same thermal cycle as do the larger gas turbines with one notable exception; they use a recuperator to capture exhaust heat for use elsewhere in the thermodynamic cycle. The heat available from micro turbines can be used to generate primarily hot water. Microturbines range in size between 30 kw and 100 kw with larger models on the "drawing board."
