B. 2005-2006 SoCalGas Equipment Tests
SoCalGas continues to fill the data gaps on equipment performance utilizing changing gas quality. The 2005-06 testing included testing equipment not previously tested, the addition of different makes and models of equipment already tested and expanded testing of low NOx boilers with fixed air fuel combustion systems that displayed NOx emission sensitivity to changes in Wobbe Number.

Low NOx Boilers-Expanded Testing
The expanded testing focused on utilizing tuning strategies to minimize the NOx emissions sensitivity to changes in gas quality. The studies demonstrate tuning strategies can eliminate and/or minimize NOx emission changes when operating Low NOx burners with fixed air fuel combustion systems.
