Converting biogas to biomethane

  1. Waste products, such as sludge, food waste and manure are processed in a biodigester.
  2. The biodigester ferments the organic material through an anaerobic process, creating biogas — a mixture of methane and other gases.
  3. Produced biogas can then be scrubbed or conditioned to leave 98% pure methane. This is called biomethane because it’s derived from renewable bio sources.
  4. Biomethane, which has the same components as the natural gas we all use today, is ready to be transported or used as a new energy source.
