Consumers Have Control of their Data
Here at SoCalGas, we ensure appropriate protection measures are taken when collecting, storing, using and reporting your information. Personal information, as per indicated in the CCPA as amended by the CPRA of 2020, may have been collected from California residents whom may be customers and non-customers (including employees, retirees, contractors, and job applicants) after signing up for service and/or using tools or programs we provide. The information we collect is used to optimize our services and communication to you.
Manage Your Personal Information with Us
Under the CCPA, effective January 1, 2020, we are providing consumers access to view and control their personal data. We do not sell any personal data collected. We do not have an opt-out for the sale of personal information because we do not sell personal information to businesses or third parties.
Please note that consumers may generally only make a request on behalf of themselves, or their minor children. We do not knowingly collect information from minors except for information collected from college applicants in the applications for the SoCalGas Scholarship Program.
Authorized Agents Acting on behalf of Consumer
Consumers who would like to have an authorized agent act on their behalf to exercise their privacy rights, must complete the Agent Authorization and Personal Information Request Form. Return the notarized form to the address listed on the form. Please enclose copies of two forms of identifications from the agent so we can verify their identity.
Power of Attorney
If you are a designated Power of Attorney and would like to submit a request on behalf of a California resident, please send the Power of Attorney document to privacy@socalgas.com. We will need two forms of identifications from the Power of Attorney to verify their identity.
Customers
You can request a copy of your personal information collected starting 1/1/2022 including where it is disclosed, make corrections or request to delete your personal information, subject to exclusions under the law.

All Southern California Gas Company current/former employees, contractors, and job applicants, can request a copy of your personal information collected starting as of 1/1/2022 including where it is disclosed, make corrections or request to delete your personal information, subject to exclusions under the law.

We keep your information only for as long as necessary to serve you and handle matters like billing disputes, inquiries and system planning. Retention periods vary based upon circumstances and business needs but will most typically be two to ten years.
