We remain committed to keeping the Ventura community informed with timely, open, and transparent communications on activities at our facilities. The safety and wellbeing of our community, customers, and employees is paramount to everything we do at SoCalGas.

Fence-Line Methane Monitoring Interactive Dashboard

As part of our ongoing commitment to keeping the Ventura community informed with timely, open and transparent communications, SoCalGas has developed an interactive dashboard to allow public access to methane and weather monitoring data collected at the SoCalGas Ventura Compressor Station. The methane monitoring system consists of four sensors strategically located near each of the corners of the facility, or "fence-line." These sensors are continuously monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week by SoCalGas Operations staff who oversee the system and respond accordingly as needed. The public may access this tool online in English and Spanish through the Fence-line Methane Monitoring System Dashboard at socalgas.com/VenturaFence-Line

Construction Activity

Now through August 30, 2024, SoCalGas will continue its routine pipeline safety inspection work within our Ventura Compressor Station. This scheduled pipeline safety work is unrelated to the modernization project. Residents and businesses in the area may see additional truck traffic and personnel on-site during this work period. Those in the immediate area may hear construction noise from the equipment and crews during work hours, Monday through Saturday between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Company vehicles will be parked within our Ventura Compressor Station property. Public parking will remain available for residents and businesses.

For over a decade, SoCalGas has partnered with the Ventura Land Trust to beautify and maintain the vegetation surrounding Ventura. Recently, SoCalGas employees and their families joined the Ventura Land Trust for a community volunteer event to provide maintenance for oak trees and native plants in Harmon Canyon. In 2021, SoCalGas and Ventura Land Trust planted over 50 coast live oak trees and native plants such as California sagebrush, sagebrush, coyote brush, bush sunflower, and Yerba Buena. This year, SoCalGas volunteers cleared these trees and plants from invasive weeds and dry brush. To learn more about the Ventura Land Trust, please visit venturalandtrust.org
