Cedric Williams, Chief Safety Officer

Cedric Williams is chief safety officer for Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas), a Sempra regulated utility. He oversees SoCalGas' safety management systems that govern public, employee, contractor, and infrastructure safety, as well as programs, policies, and processes to enhance safety culture and performance. His responsibility also includes emergency management operations. 

Previously, Williams was vice president of customer services for SoCalGas and vice president of construction for SoCalGas and San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E). 

Prior to rejoining Sempra, Williams was vice president of National Grid's complex capital delivery program. Before joining National Grid in Massachusetts in 2014, Williams had a 25-year career with SoCalGas. He has held a number of increasingly responsible management positions at SoCalGas, including director of labor relations, director of gas system operations and director of field operations. 

Williams spent four years in the U.S. Marine Corps prior to joining SoCalGas. He currently sits on the board of directors for the Orange County Business Council and on the advisory board of California State University, Long Beach. Williams holds a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from California State University, Long Beach, and a master's in business administration from California State University, San Bernardino.
